Suzanne Pirkle, MA,RDN,CED-S

Specializing in nutrition counseling in the areas of eating disorders, PCOS, disordered eating, and sports nutrition, Suzanne Pirkle is a registered and licensed dietitian with close to 20 years of experience. Suzanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Mississippi, completed a supervised dietetic internship and holds a Master’s degree in Health Education with emphasis in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At UAB’s Department of Pediatrics, she was the nutrition trainee for the Leadership Education and Adolescent (L.E.A.H.) grant, focusing on a public health approach to treating adolescents with eating disorders within an multidisciplinary team. Suzanne is passionate about nutrition education and has given numerous conference presentations on eating disorders, sports nutrition and adolescent health.  

Suzanne’s philosophy of care is that healthful eating is within everyone’s reach, while also recognizing the dietary challenges that can come with disordered eating, PCOS, and sports nutrition. Her mission is to equip individuals to improve their health and wellness through a non-diet approaches to meet their personal goals. Suzanne works closely with each client to help develop a healthier, more intuitive and sustainable relationship with food. By addressing the emotional and physical relationship to food with nutrition education and counseling, individuals are equipped to lead a balanced lifestyle on the permanent path to wellness.

DIETITIAN, CERTIFIED INTUITIVE EATING COUNSELOR

Amy Liscomb, RDN, LD

Amy Liscomb is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. She practices through a weight inclusive, non-diet approach to help clients find peace with food and honor their body through mindful nourishment and movement. Amy strives to support clients to recover from the negative mental and physical effects of chronic dieting and bring pleasure back into their eating experience. She believes food is not only fuel for life and sport but a vital part of our connection with ourselves and others.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Alabama and focuses her continuing education in the areas of disordered eating and body image. Work experience includes Lexington Athletic Club Dietitian, University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Clinical Dietitian, Oxmoor House Test Kitchens Recipe Development and Testing as well as Yoga and Pilates Instructor at YMCA Birmingham and Club Pilates.

Amy Claire McMurtrie, MS, RDN, CED - S

Amy Claire is a registered dietitian and nutrition therapist working primarily with individuals seeking support for an eating disorder, sports nutrition, and/or disordered eating. Practicing through a non-diet, food and body inclusive approach, she seeks to understand her client’s food, body, and activity story as a foundation to growth and healing. Amy Claire walks with clients towards peace with food and their bodies by supporting client-led, sustainable, flexible nourishment that both fuels activity and brings joy and pleasure.

Amy Claire holds a CED-S (Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor) and has worked 10+ years in eating disorder and sports nutrition field. She has provided national clinical and dietetic supervision and training as a national clinical educator for a large national eating disorder treatment facility as well as held leadership positions as Director of Clinical Services at a residential treatment center and Lead Dietitian in a residential, PHP, and IOP programs. She provides nutrition supervision for dietitians seeking to obtain their CEDS through individual and group supervision offerings.

Amy Claire is the Team Dietitian Nutritionist for the Team USA Wheelchair Rugby team, who won silver medal in Tokyo 2020 games, and is supporting athletes preparing for Paris 2024 games. She has worked with Paralympic athletes for 5 years through the USOPC. Amy Claire has worked with professional and collegiate athletes and teams for the past 10 years. Through a body-inclusive approach to sports nutrition, she supports athletes in finding fueling patterns and sport and ability-specific nutrition skills to both perform at an elite level, and as a foundation to life-after-sport.  

She lives in Huntsville, AL and enjoys the outdoors, cooking, enjoying meals and coffee with friends and family. 

 

DIETITIAN, EATING DISORDER SPECIALIST, FAITH BASED APPROACH

Caroline Irby, MS, RDN, LDN

Caroline is passionate about living whole in body, soul, and spirit. Caroline believes in an “all foods fit” approach to nourishing the body and is passionate about helping clients restore their relationships with food, body, and movement so that they can live a wholehearted, abundant life. Caroline believes that to live our most abundant lives, we must nourish ourselves in a way that brings pleasure to our taste buds while fueling our body at the same time.

Caroline graduated from the University of Alabama with her undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition. While she was at Alabama she also completed the Coordinated Program in Dietetics and her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition on the Community Track. After graduating Caroline completed the LEAH Traineeship where she worked at UAB’s adolescent eating disorder clinic, nutrition clinic, and interdisciplinary clinic for one year. Most recently Caroline worked for an eating disorder recovery community as a program dietitian in all levels of care including IOP, PHP, and RTC. After being a program dietitian, she then stepped into leadership roles within the residential programs including associate lead dietitian followed by lead dietitian.
